Dr. Ganapathi P. Bhat is a founding consultant of Mangala Hospital, and has served as its Medical Director and Chief Intensivist and Anaesthetist for over three decades. He is also Chairman of the Mangala Charitable Trust and its associated educational institutions — Mangala College of Paramedical Sciences, Mangala School of Nursing and New Mangala College of Nursing.

An expert anaesthetist, he is experienced in managing all types of medical emergencies, including poly-trauma, poisoning and burns, and has vast experience in paediatric and newborn anaesthesia. He is in charge of Mangala Hospital's Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Post-Operative ICU, and has also headed the Department of Anaesthesia at KVG Medical College, Sullia.

Colleagues describe him as a driving force behind Mangala Hospital's growth from a general hospital into a comprehensive multispeciality centre — closely involved in its investment in critical-care infrastructure, specialist talent and structured quality systems.
